In its new report, 20 Great Jobs Without a College Degree, CareerCast.com identifies careers where you can earn a good living with just a high school education. Although these jobs may require some training, they all offer a good salary, as well as growth potential. At the top of the list: dental hygienists, online advertising managers, web developers, medical secretaries and paralegal assistants.
“Even with a college degree, finding a good job in today’s economy is hard and can be very time consuming. Although those with degrees often earn more money, you can still earn a very good living without one,” says Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast.com.
In most cases, a college education does pay. The average American worker will earn approximately one million dollars more during his or her career with a four-year degree. The average starting salary for someone with a college degree is $51,000, while a job with no degree requirement starts at $28,350. The top average salary for people with a degree is $130,600, those without a degree top out at $79,150.
To determine if a college degree is right for you, CareerCast.com suggests you carefully choose your field of employment. Even a modest education will cost over $50,000, and you may incur student loans.

The ideal candidate is an adaptable, detail-oriented individual with the organizational skills required to handle several ongoing, complex and time-sensitive litigation projects.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
*Revises and maintains a variety of legal documents to include charts, subpoenas, pleadings, contracts and letters.
*Maintains calendars and other time tables for matters to include scheduling/coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements for assigned lawyers and other team members.
*Manages lawyers daily time entry. Also reviews proformas and works with lawyer and accounting to finalize monthly bills.
*Files documents electronically with various courts including the ITC, federal district and appellate courts, and state trial level and appellate courts. Is mindful of and skilled with format, filing requirements and deadlines. Retrieves court dockets, cases and other materials from various online databases. Tracks status of cases and informs attorneys of dates.
*Answers telephones and takes detailed messages as necessary. Works with clients, firm attorneys and opposing counsel schedule depositions as necessary.
*Handles confidential and non-routine information in a professional and trustworthy manner.
*Reviews, prints and files emails for attorney which relate to client files. Creates and maintains client and billing files.
*Maintains and updates attorney contact lists and office contact lists.
*Prepares expense reports and check requests for attorneys.
*Interacts with other departments to retrieve information such as marketing brochures, client information, etc.
*May work with attorneys to manage and administer conflicts process for the intake of new matters.
*May from time to time be required to work outside of standard schedule which may on occasion include travel.
Qualifications:
*High school diploma required.
*Minimum of four years experience as a Legal Secretary required. Experience working in litigation preferred.
*Familiarity with intellectual property litigation procedures and forms and experience with procedures in patent litigation, including filings in United States District Courts and the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) is highly desirable.
*Must have excellent secretarial skills to include typing, dictation/transcribing, answering phones, etc., to support several attorneys in a busy law firm environment. Strong organizational skills required to handle several on-going complex and time-sensitive projects and assignments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to work with a variety of staff at varying levels within the Firm as well as clients/vendors. Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to accurately proof-read lengthy documents in a timely manner. Must work well under time constraints.
*Must have strong computer skills to include MS Word and Excel to create, revise and maintain a variety of documents. Must have the ability to conduct internet research, access electronic databases, and summarize/communicate findings. Experience working in complex patent litigation document management systems is highly desirable.

How to do A Street View
As in Google Maps, Street View lets you explore places through 360-degree street-level imagery. In Lexxio, this feature should help you looking at the job location and check it out just before going there.

1. Zoom in
First, Zoom in, by clicking on the job location marker. This will get you to the street level zoom.
At this zoom level you will see the road/street’s name nearby the marker. This is your first hint of the job location whereabouts.
2. Drag and Drop Pegman

Drag Pegman to any positions at the closest road to the marker. Roads with Street View imagery will appear with a blue border.
Notice the green shade with dotted border under Pegman, it means it still finding the best possible position to land the Pegman. The shade will become solid green when it finds the right position. That’s when you release your mouse drag, and drop it. You should see the street view of the job location at that exact time.
3. Navigating In Street View

Rotate
• use the wheel in the control panel in the top left corner. • or use the left and right arrows on your keyboard • or click and drag with your mouse.

Walk
• click on one of the white arrows overlaid on the street. • or use the up and down arrows on your keyboard.

CLEVELAND — Health Management Group, Inc. (HMG) of Akron, Ohio will pay $260,000 to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.
The EEOC’s suit charged that Krishna McCollins and Donna Davidson, both directors of franchise development, were paid less than a male who performed substantially equal work for HMG. Such sex-based wage discrimination violates the Equal Pay Act of 1963 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The lawsuit, EEOC v. HMG, et al., Civil Action No. 5:09CV01762, was filed by the EEOC in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division, Akron, after the agency first attempted to reach a pre-litigation settlement through its conciliation process. In addition to monetary relief, the consent decree settling the suit provides for training for all of HMG’s employees, managers, and supervisors on employee rights and employers’ obligations under the Equal Pay Act and Title VII and requires HMG to post an anti-discrimination notice to all employees.
The decree also requires that HMG revamp its non-discrimination policies; implement discrimination complaint procedures; maintain records regarding complaints of discrimination received by HMG representatives; promote manager and supervisor accountability with regard to HMG’s anti-discrimination policies; and provide annual reports to the EEOC during the decree’s 30-month term. “The EEOC will not tolerate discriminatory pay practices,” said Debra Lawrence, regional attorney for the EEOC’s Philadelphia District.
“We are proud to announce this settlement, which comes in the wake of Equal Pay Day, an annual event which promotes public awareness of the continuing gender wage gap.” Equal Pay Day, which occurs on April 17, marks the end of the extra period of time that woman must work on the average in order to earn what a man did the year before.
